Bob Costas says future of football is grim...

And I concur, unless the NFL takes a big lead in reforming the game. To quote Costas, "The reality is that this game destroys people's brains." I certainly know from from father's experience the reality of neurodegenerative brain disease resulting from football. My father suffered 8 concussions before the age of 23 that he knew of! He suffered an additional 2 after the age of 60. These latter 2 lead to the onset of his CTE symptoms. He then lived another 18 years in a state of progressive mental decline. He loved football. It was his ticket to a larger, successful life. I do not believe he would have done anything differently. But, he did not make a informed choice. Moving forward both parents and players have more information- this is both a blessing and a curse.
